Swamp everlasting
On 20 February this year, the City of Melbourne announced that the swamp everlasting (Xerochrysum palustre) would be the city's new floral emblem.
The swamp everlasting's original distribution within the municipality would have been in and around the West Melbourne Swamp. The everlasting swamp. Right now, however, this little golden paper daisy is critically endangered and not know to occur in our swamp.
